We had a lovely visit to the Ship Inn on Friday evening. The first thing we noticed was how lovely the pub looks from the outside with the lights and the harbour. It's definitely a favourite for locals as the beer garden was full and despite having quite a big car park we did struggle to park (we waited for someone to leave). When arriving we realised we had booked the table for the wrong date but the staff were very helpful and found us a table anyway. The food was delicious- the soft shell crab burger on the specials is definitely something I would recommend. The atmosphere in general was great, a lot of buzz about the rugby world Cup there and the staff were great. It's dog friendly with treats on the side and a good selection of drinks available. We would definitely return.
The beauty is the location! The views are fantastic over Chichester Harbour. There are lots of outdoor seats, and it really feels like you're on holiday when sitting outside. It has a seaside feel to it. The decor is fitting with lots of hayling islands, old photos, etc. Famous for locally caught fish, they also have a wide range of local real ales. Monday eve is quiz night. Dogs are welcome. There are a load of board games you can play, free WiFi, open 10am -11pm every day. The food is OK, the fish is fresh, but the oven chips and tinned peas lose this fullers pub a star for me. Its very easy to book a table on their website.
A lovely pub with a view. Indoor and outdoor seating. 2 floors indoors. Contactless payments. Good menu- different from the menu suggested on google. Generous portion sizes. Food arrives piping hot. Plenty of sauces available at request. Very friendly and attentive staff. Family and date friendly.
