Regal Restaurant is a small, modest restaurant with a focus on fish & chips. It is located on the Hastings seafront, but without a direct view of the sea (and no outside seating area either). While neither the front nor the décor inside will fire anyone's imagination, it is a good place to get better-than-average and competitively priced seafood. I had the "two pieces of cod & chips" for UKP 12.50, and was served a huge portion of cod indeed (a single fried cod with chips goes for just UKP 7.10). The batter was crispy, the cod firm and fresh. Just the chips, as ever so often, would have benefited from some extra time in the frying pan. Drinks served include a few lagers and local ales, including a dark beer. The service is down-to-earth and efficient. Certainly Regal Restaurant is not the place to linger with your friends or family, but for a quick, inexpensive and decent meal I'd recommend it wholeheartedly.
Always friendly n welcoming. Did us all a lovely works Christmas breakfast. Thank u everyone xx🎄😁
Absolutely wonderful place. The decor and menu is a blast from the past. It's a sheer 80's delight. We all had the cod and chips, each of which was of excellent quality. Perhaps the star of the show though, was the dessert. I chose a banana split, but there were other classics like homemade trifle and artic role. For drinks, the selection includes cinzano and blue nun. I'm so happy we found this place and would recommend it to anyone! Our lovely waitress (also the owner) was also warm and welcoming. This wasn't just a delicious meal, it was a very welcome trip down memory lane. Amazing.
