Went for a Thali night with a group of 15, booked well in advance. Delicious authentic gujurati cuisine cooked with care, attention to detail, and served with love. Great choice of local craft beer and wine, and had a delicious mango lassi with our meal. The hosts are clearly passionate about their food, and so friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend this, and will be back for the daytime menu, which also looks fantastic.
The only photos I took were of the dessert. A fruity set yoghurt with gulab jamun, a delicious chocolate and rose topping, garnished with pomegranate and pistachio.
This is the first time I have used this café since it had a makeover / changed hands.
I was given a nice greeting and was made to feel welcome.
The cakes looked an improvement over the last time I went here. I ordered cafe latte and cake. As well as seating in the café there was a temporary shelter (tent, photo) outside which is where I sat. My order was brought out to me. The coffee was very nice and the apple and toffee muffin (not pictured) was very very good indeed. I also had a piece of carrot cake which was good but not in the same league as the muffin. The price was reasonable. I will be happy to return.
Feb 2022, still good.
Nov 2023, still good but not quite great.
Cafe by day, curry by night; 'Indian curry experience' is definitely the right description for this place. Wow, what a brilliant idea. Authentic & intimate Indian restaurant run by lovely people. There's no menu, just turn up and eat (you can opt for vegetarian or meat). Good drinks menu enhances the experience (although my lager wasn't very cold). Definitely one to try out if you can - but you will have to book!
