Really liked this place. The view was great, the waiter friendly and recommended the best dishes rather than the expensive ones. The food was very good quality and the traditional styling made for a relaxed romantic evening. Don't know why this place doesn't have a higher rating.
Fine dining with a fine view. Spent a lovely evening at the Old Etonian. Walked up past Harrow School through picturesque old Harrow village then sat on admiring the sunset from their hilltop terrace. Starters were great, we had succulent Prawns in white wine sauce and fried calamari. Had the main course in the simple but elegant restaurant, venison and lamb both well cooked, lamb was delicious, venison sauce was excellent. £53 + tip for starters, mains and mineral water, good value for a special evening out.
This is such a gem of a place. To go back one step actually, Harrow on the Hill was a gem in itself! To come across this village of sorts in the middle of Harrow is not something I had expected and then came the Old Etonian.
Again, do not be fooled by the exterior, walk-in and you will want to make this restaurant one of your warm locals. Unfortunately when we went, the weather wasn't on our side to use the lovely outside seating area they have at the back. Ordered the Lamb Shank which was very well cooked, almost coming off the bone. Went for a work lunch and even though I was quite full already, I could not bear to leave anything on my plate.
Definitely going back sometime soon.
