Booked a table on a Friday night for a celebration and was shown to a very large table slightly off on its own which was perfect.
We had the £80 set three course menu which was lovely. We started off with grazing food which we did not expect but was all very tasty and a perfect start to the rest of the food to come.
We had sparkling South African wine which was a perfect bubble start to the evening.
The further courses arrived which everyone loved all washed down with further bottles of both white and red wine which we was helped to choose by the staff who were excellent.
This is a lovely restaurant located in the grounds of the main house and although it's on the more expensive end of the scale was perfect for a special celebration evening.
Sunday lunch with a twist! I recently visited for Sunday lunch at Smoke, and was amazed at the quality of food, hospitality of the staff, and the cozy atmosphere in the venue.
Set in a small building, Smoke looks very unassuming from the outside (but is set in very picturesque grounds). However, once inside it has an incredibly cozy feel. Think historic brick walls, oak beams, large glass windows, and mood lighting.
There are traditional tables of 2-4 seats, a row of 6 along a chefs table, where the plating up of starters and desserts is completed (fascinating to watch!) and a large “party” table in the corner. We sat at the chefs table, and the theatre of the chefs working was just fantastic.
The food was delicious, and we left feeling very satiated!
A big shoutout to the sommelier, providing a great deal of information on the wines available, and a great recommendation of a Chilean red wine.
Another big shoutout to one of the chefs, Josh, who took the time to talk to us and answer questions whilst plating up food. He also put on a great show when torching the top of a brûlée for dessert! He is a credit to the restaurant.
We came here for a friend's birthday to do something special. Wow it was delicious.
A rare boiling day in the UK we sat outside in the garden area which was lovely.
We weren't sure of the dress code, but it is a relaxed vibe, the boys wore smart chino shorts which was more than acceptable
Service is efficient with a laid back feel which we liked very much.
It was a £60 set menu and the beauty of it is you can't pre Google Google decide what you want. The serving staff tool us through the menu so we could pick the best choices.
The Scallops ARE worth the supplement , my god amazing!!
Their freezer had broken but they gave us another option and compensated us which we really appreciated!
Toilets are in the main dining hall and are clean and nice
Parking is accessible
It's Spenny but worth every penny!!
