Firstly, we must apologise that this review comes so long after our visit to Homestead back in November! We visited for lunch on a Saturday to celebrate our engagement in the North York Moors the day before and Cecily went way above and beyond to make sure our experience was really special, and it absolutely was! We were seated by the windows at the back of the restaurant, overlooking relaxing views of the rolling hills and changing weather fronts of the North Yorkshire Moors. Cecily then kindly gave us a glass of bubbles each to celebrate our engagement, which was such a lovely gesture. These were followed by great local beers and alcohol free options (I would have sampled the excellent wine menu if only I hadn't been driving...). The menu is seriously exceptional, refined yet down to earth with a focus on seasonal and local produce, and every single course of the three we ordered totally exceeded our very high expectations. Finally, (as you can probably already tell by the above) the service was truly wonderful, warm and friendly, Cecily really couldn't have done more for us. This restaurant is really, really special. It is the perfect place for a celebration but also any other excuse (especially given what good value it is for the quality of food served) to experience what that Cecily and her partner have created here, which I have no doubt will just keep getting better and better… Homestead has got to be on its way to a Michelin star!
