The standout was undoubtedly the exquisitely prepared crab doughnut , which left an indelible mark on my palate. Kelp is THE hidden gem of Glasgow. The food is absolutely spectacular, inventive and made with so much love and care.
We tried a lot of the dishes, and being seafood forward, all of it was cooked beautifully. The fish was beautiful, flaky and juicy. The cockles fantastic. And dessert was the perfect way to end this meal. The star of the show was the crab donut, which was an umami bomb.
Cannot be further impressed by this place. Service was extremely hospitable too.
They could be well on their way to a Michelin star or Bib gourmand very soon!
Atmosphere is pretty chill.
Food was great: The coley was soft tender and the sauce that went with it was intensely flavourful. Mussels were great as well and quite a sizeable portion. The oysters were fresh and creamy. Service was one of the better ones we had in Glasgow.
I asked my partner, "So, 5 stars?"
He replied, "For sure. Easily."
