I'm a regular here since it's near the university and sells food that fits in with my particular dietary needs, and the service is always friendly and the food is consitently nice. It's not a fancy place any any means but it's a nice local fish and chip place
My pal lives 4 doors down from here, so whenever I’m over to visit we go here for slice sausage and tattie scone breakfast rolls (2 of, with a mug of tea). If I’m really lucky we even manage to go back for a haggis supper for tea.
The service is excellent, the place is nice and clean and their rolls are THE best.
I love the booth seating, the squeezy sauce bottles and the fact that everyone in there always seems really happy to be there.
It should be Grade II listed, so it never changes.
Good food and good service.. I've eaten here since it was Lorettos and I've never been disappointed. If you're looking for quality cafe food then this is the place.I tend to stick to the chippy part of the menu as I reckon they're pie, beans and chips is the best I've had anywhere. The other diners always seem happy and satisfied,no doubt due in part to the excellent service, which is usually just the one waitress who does a great job!
I am ashamed to say I've never tried their pasta dishes but having seen diners demolishing them with gusto I reckon they're as good as everything else.
I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my food and no matter how busy it is we always get a seat with a freshly wiped table. And there's no sachets of sauce, vinegar etc,but good old squeezy bottles.
highly recommended,especially if you've got a hangover.
