Best Malaysian food in town! Laidback and unpretentious. Food always spot on! Staff very polite though don’t expect fine dining service but they’re always efficient.
Being away from Malaysia for so long, I was going through a bad 'I have to eat nasi lemak right away or I'll die' mode. After searching online for Malaysian food in Glasgow, I came upon this place and made an immediate trip there. It's a small place in the city centre. Simple interiors and an elaborate menu. Asked for the much missed nasi lemak. When it arrived though I knew I wouldn't love it. Mostly because it is not authentic Malaysian style nasi lemak. The chicken was in a curry form rather than a sambal form. It looked beautiful on the plate, I must give them that. It was all right to sate the bad craving but being a nasi lemak lover from northern Malaysia, I won't get away with this. The anchovies was not the crunchy but the chewy type too but I think that's ok. Overall taste was decent. Had a teh tarik too. It was a little too watery for me but after spending an hour here I did ask for another glass. Service is good. 12 £ for the nasi lemak is pretty steep but I think that happens when you want your country's cuisine in another country. I would go try something else here from their elaborate menu when I miss Malaysian food again.
Ahhhh what a gem! I love Malaysian food. I happened to find Rumours Kopitiam on Zomato on the way into Glasgow this morning. Thanks Zomato! The food was delish, my favourite was Garlic and Chilli Aubergines from the lunch menu followed by Nasi Goreng, Malaysian Fried Rice. I'm not a big eater so Nasi Goreng was a bit overloaded for me. Overall, Rumours Kopitiam is definitely a great place to have lunch as the portion they give will keep you full the whole day. And the price is reasonable as well. Enjoy!
