Love this place. Been coming for over 30 years.
Basically it's just a pub and needs to start getting the basics right again. I can only speak for the lager, and there are a few, but the standard is very poor now. Varying temperatures and sometimes the taste is well off. My last pint of kronenbourg , £4.20, was way too warm and had a distinct taste of chemicals, disinfectant. Strange at 7:30 on a Wednesday night.
Get back to basics please, serve a nice pint.
Amazing place for anyone who's doesn't really enjoy popular music. Staff are really friendly and there's a great verity of drinks available. The atmosphere is almost electric! The decor and collectibles are bith fascinating and awesome. One of my favourite places to go in Glasgow City centre. Also close by to both Central train station and taxi ranks.
Only down side is that it's pretty expensive but I feel its worth it.
I always pop in here for a pint when I’m in the city if on my own or with my mates. It’s just a great wee bar with a nice vibe near the train station. It has a great selection of beers (no Tennent’s - but lots of other options) and the pints are always served well (no slops)- they also serve a great wee vodka. Music is decent rock etc with some cool films showing on the various screens dotted around the bar. It also attracts a pretty decent and eclectic clientele and you always get served promptly but the mega cool and unpretentious bar staff. I wish there were more pubs like this is Glasgow.
