I like that this spot has two distinct rooms - the pub and the resto -. I've been twice to the restaurant. I am in love with the mac and cheese. It is the comfort I crave and the creaminess I deserve. I was always disappointed in my own mac and cheese and when I ordered in restaurants. Yet, I kept the dream alive, one day, I or someone would make the perfect mac and cheese. I have found it. This non- baked dish is simply the best.
The service was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere city casual, decent house wine and great music playing at a reasonable decibel. We had the haggis stuffed chicken - delicious and moist and the fish and chips - my guest said it was quite good.
I would change the mac and cheese order to have the option to be served with a small salad instead of the potato options. And if not salad, then more mac and cheese please.
Great place to meet up for a chat with friends. There are a few good beers and cask ales on a tap. I did not try food but my friends said it's tasty. No music which is an advantage to other pubs/bars nearby.
Food was excellent, the guy who met us as we came in was quite rude. The decor was very shabby. The waitress that arrived just after we arrived was lovely. It was mother's day and I had a lovely afternoon.
