First Time Visit
Fine pub on Duke St. Great selection of wines & spirits. Didn’t try the food but everything looked & smelt good. Will definitely be back.
Came here to try as it was recommended by a friend.
I was expecting typical pub food and didn't have high expectations, but it wasn't just traditional pub grub. The menu has a 'Steamed Buns' section which the waitress described as an Asian street food style dish, which is not commonly found in Glasgow.
Before we investigated the steamed buns for ourselves we had the chilli and lime prawns and the black pudding and chorizo as starters to share. We were happy with these, both were really tasty.
As for the steamed buns, we tried the chicken bun and the pork bun. These made for a tasty snack, haven't tried anything like them before and I'm glad I did! I would recommend ordering two buns and a side as one wasn't quite enough.
There is a good selection of ciders and beers as any good bar should have. The Addlestones still cider was nice.
All in all, a good dining experience with friendly staff.
Crikey this venue has gotten popular. On a Thursday evening it was absolutely packed. Couple of fridges for craft beer at the door. Eclectic music being played from vinyl in true hipster fashion. Staff on their A game and decor is warm and funky. Really good energy and a young crowd. Food looked good so I’ll be back for a second visit to try. Happy days
