Highly recommend. We had the set lunch menu which was great value for fresh, seasonal Scottish ingredients turned into beautiful and delicious plates of food. Great friendly service and overall a lovely Saturday lunchtime.
* Starter of Crab Fish Cakes with Mango & Coriander Salsa
* Main of Roast Sage and Apple Stuffed Pork Fillet in Cider Cream with Dauphinoise Potatoes and Greens
* Dessert of tablet cheesecake
The crab fish cakes were so light and fluffy, you only knew by the taste that it was in your mouth!
The pork was perfectly poised in a to-die-for cream, and the green veg drizzled in a delicious sauce/oil/not-quite-sure-what-it-was....but it was heavenly nonetheless!
And as for the orgasmic (uh-huh, I really did say that!) tablet cheesecake - yes, calorific BUT, as with all the dishes, there was just the right amount on the plate. Not too much and not too little.
I would highly recommend Ian Brown's at Giffnock - compact and bijou but very friendly. I'll be back - Sunday lunch next time!
P.S. And such adorable teapots.... they can be bought from a website called 'Typhoon' so I was told. (The website looks Chinese, so not to be mistaken by other sites of the same name).
Fabulous trout, followed by scrummy chambord Creme brûlée accompanied by a delicious full flavoured red. But not only that we were welcomed as old friends.....this is only our third visit over about 4 years, as it is 'treating yourselves ' prices, but worth it!
