Firstly may I say we throughly enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere was excellent throughout.
Alas the service was a little bit poor, partly due to the the waiters and waitresses being swamped with customer's .
The Farmer's Arms is within the area one of the better eateries definitely a cut above the rest and the pricing reflects that that status however with that comes the need for a excellent dining experience.
Uneven evening though great food and nice settings, good for kids.
First, the food, all ordered from the tapas style 'small plates' section was fantastic - really good. Nice if unspectacular deserts.
The staff were pleasant but our food and drinks took a long time to arrive. Usually this is not an issue, but it really stood out, dessert came a full 45 mins after ordering it.
The menu seems a little confused, a Mediterranean tapas section paired with more traditional burgers & fish & chips mains, but will cover most bases.
First visit to eat since the return of the people who were running The Farmer’s about 18 months ago. We were very sorry when they left and happy to see not only their return but that they have transformed both the interior and the garden area. The result is a warm and welcoming open plan pub and the food is excellent. Staff friendly and helpful and we very much enjoyed the ambience of the background music. We were sat indoors as it was the evening but the garden looks great with an outdoor bar, new seating areas including a covered area with patio heaters. We will be back
