My partner and I only decided we wanted a meal out around 5pm tonight (some may be able to relate to the fact I didn’t fancy cooking!) and we were able to book a table through the website with ease. I was pleasantly surprised there were available spaces.
On arrival, we were promptly seated and soon placed our order. The menu is reasonably varied with some good choices of traditional dishes. We opted for garlic bread and crispy squid for starters, followed by the steak burger and confit pork belly for mains.
My partner is fairly fussy, nothing bog standard but also nothing too fancy. He sang praises on the food throughout the meal and I very much agree. Good portion sizes and great flavour accompanied by a prompt, polite but not overwhelming service.
After our meal, my partner had a brownie for desert and I had a latte which came with a complimentary, home made biscuit. A lovely touch.
I cannot fault the meal, nor the service. 2 full, happy people leaving with smiles and discussing our return visit.
Thank you all for a very nice evening x
It was an amazing experience. Small old town in the heart of Kent. I had the best traditional pie in my life!!! All was delicious and waffles with soured cherries and chocolate were perfect.
With a really nice welcome from the landlord being our first time visiting here.. This was a really nice and quiet pub/restaurant not having to shout for a conversation with my other half. We was really looked after, amazing food and amazing people that work there! This is one of the places that we will return!!!
