Second visit for lunch. Both times we were blown away by the quality of the meal and service. The fish dishes are particularly amazing. Best restaurant in colchester by some margin. Looking forward to returning.

A group of four of us went for a Sunday roast and it was genuinely one of the best I’ve had! The fireplace was whirring inside to give the place a superb atmosphere, the service was excellent - better than most places these days, it was great value for money. You can’t go past the ragu mushroom for starters (chefs kiss), the chateaubriande for main and a wine to go with it from the gorgeous selection

To be fair, I met with a party after they finished lunch. However, my sister and I shared a wonderful 5 cheese platter. Delicious. Service was great. Attentive but not annoyingly so! I was driving, so non-alcoholic lager (very good). Good wine list. Thoroughly checked for future use. The 'eaters' all said the food was very good.
