Finally found a traditional pub where you feel welcome and can sit in peace and enjoy a good conversation over a good pint. The food and selection of real ales is excellent including my favourite Hoegaarden. The staff and Poppy the cat make you feel welcome and to top your visit off all you need to do is walk up the steps in the garden for a beautiful view of the Creek.

What a gem of a place. We were introduced to The Shipwrights on 9 Nov when we had lunch there with old friends. Situated deep in the Faversham marshes, desolate and isolated it's so atmospheric and so very cheery and welcoming on a cold wet day. The owners / staff were very friendly and the home cooked food is superb. Being several hundred years old it is rich in smuggling history and apparently with it's own ghost. No noisy music or plastic, and noisy kids probably wouldn't be over-welcome, It's just a good Olde Worlde cosy English pub with real ale; the sort you'd want to take visitors to show them a slice of old England. I'm sure we'll be back.
