We found this lovely pub while visiting Falmouth today, we were welcomed as soon as we walked through the door by the lovely James, we both opted for a Sunday lunch I had roast beef & my husband had the lamb shank, and our cocker spaniel Jack was made very welcome too(wagging his tail at everyone insight as per usual), the quality of food and service was outstanding from both the staff James & Matt and compliments to the chef too, we were lucky enough to have not had breakfast so we also had room for sweets after our dinner (if you've got a sweet tooth they are a must), you must give this wonderful pub a try, you won't be disappointed. Thanks Again guys for a wonderful lunch Tracey Andy & Jack (Norton) x
The Penny Come Quick might be a new pub with a young staff, but you wouldn’t guess that. As soon as you open the door, the warm, welcoming atmosphere draws you in. The décor is traditional, with a roaring fire, lots of old wood with a nod to the marine, such as portholes in doors, without being twee. It has all the ingredients of a great place for a cosy dinner for two or a congenial get-together with friends.
And talking of food, the menu selection and quality are excellent. They have cleverly kept the choices to a minimum, ensuring that there are options for veggies, meat and fish at different price points. I had battered fish and chips, a favourite of mine. It was cooked to perfection. But then I am a bit biased – the chef is my son!
A great new addition to Falmouth. We received a lovely welcome from all the team, had the bonus of a table by the wood burning stove the perfect vantage point from which to enjoy a great lunch. Food is a real strong point with lots of fresh local ingredients. If you can manage a desert you won’t be disappointed, there is real skill in the kitchen.
Good luck to all the team with this new venture, you have got off to a great start
