Always a friendly welcome, not a lot of seating space p'haps 6 inside, but more! when weather allows on terrace tables... since most traffic is take-away... a very small detail as far as I'm concerned...
Good food cooked swiftly and freshly, as one other reviewer said: "Best breakfast in Exeter! I would add "Lunch!" and early afternoon tea and crisps... definitely the best Bacon sarnies in town!
Verdict: Long live "Ruthies"
This is what good old english greasy spoon cafes are all about! Lovely English Breakfast, mug of tea, and most of the other customers were builders on a break. We should be exporting these British cafes around the world!
Go now, before Sidwell St gets completely gentrified, and Ruthys is replaced by some stupid overpriced cereal place run by idiot bearded hipsters.
Friendly staff and great value food. Nice spot to sit and eat looking out over Sidwell Street.
