Absolutely loved this place.Good old home cooked food .Excellent beer battered cod and home cut chips well recommended oh and the home made tarter sauce!
The room were excellent, spacious and contained everything a weary traveller requires.Good comfortable beds !
The staff were very friendly ,attentive and went the extra mile by helping my partner and I out with a lift to the post office before we continued our coast to coast journey.
Anyone doing this I highly recommend here as a stop off point.
Well done Anthony and crew we enjoyed out stay and you helped us on our merry way with your help and kindness
we found this pub purely by searching dog friendly pubs near to my nan's home.
the fact it was close to our favourite walking destination was a bonus!
i would suggest booking as when we went on easter saturday, almost all of the tables were reserved.
we had two puppies with us, one being a vocal german shepard puppy and were given a table with a quiet corner for the dogs to lay on the cold tile floor which again was a bonus.
with my nan being vegetarian she sometimes struggles to find a good selection to choose from, but not here, with a whole page of the menu dedicated to veggie options.
this pub has simple home food favourites, but made EXTREMELY WELL!!
the cod was amazing, the burgers amazing, the cheese and potato pie could have fed a person for a week!!
i cannot reccommend this pub enough and will 100% be back.
thank you for a lovely meal and not even batting an eyelid when our puppy had a barking fit!!
This excellent pub/restaurant/b&b has just got even better after its recent refurbishment and new management.
We had an excellent meal this evening with lashings of tasty home cooking type food, served up by friendly staff and in comfortable surroundings.
All credit to the staff and management and this is a really welcoming pub for all and well worth a visit !
