I was excited to learn that Edmonton Green would have a new Indian Take Away outlet close by. I first heard about AJ last year during the lockdown and I thought they were very unlucky to be opening at a time when people were forced to stay home and not venture out. It was a brave decision to open at that time but I'm pleased they did. It took me a while but I ordered and collected today and was pleasantly surprised. Firstly, ordering over the phone was easy. The gentleman who took the order was efficient and clear. The whole process took a couple of minutes and I was told my meal would be ready in a half hour, and it was. It was presented to me in a quick, efficient and friendly manner. I ordered: Lamb Biryani, Lamb Madras Curry, Prawn Dhansak, Saag Aloo, Coconut Rice. Pilau Rice, Onion Bhajia and a plain paratha. I thought it was a good test to see how AJ's food compared with other Take Aways I've used in the past. I had no complaints. The food was good with generous servings of lamb in the biryani and madras. The spice heat of the madras was just right for me. Not too hot with excess chilli but pleasantly spicy with a piquant flavoursome curry gravy. Lots of prawns in the dhansak and once again a piquant flavoursome gravy. All in all, it was a good introduction to AJ's culinary skills. I'm so pleased they have managed to get through the difficult lockdown period and look forward to my next order. I'm keen to try some of their other dishes. Did I mention it was excellent value for money? Maybe I should have.

Its been a while since having a good tasting Indian and I must say the flavours in my dishes were popping on all levels. Definitely would recommend and pass what was my local to attend AJ Indian everytime.
