The store has an immense variety of plants for every season, of any kind and size. You can find all you need for gardening and keep your plants healthy as well as outdoor decoration, all sorts of pots and other exotic plants. And if you get hungry they have a lovely coffee store with seats indoors and outdoors.
A midweek lunchtime visit.
I only stopped here for a coffee with a business associate and did not explore the whole enterprise. But I can offer a few comments - you might be forgiven for driving past here and not being aware of it, I know I have a few times over recent years. At first and just for a moment I thought I was driving into a traditional builders merchants with old buildings reminiscent of the builder merchants that seem to have sadly disappeared. Instantly, I liked the quirky look of this place. Next thing I noticed was the sizeable car park right next to the main entrance. Looking for the cafe took us through the main shop which had a traditional feel about it and I commented that my wife would drag me out here if I tell her about this place as she likes traditional and quirky.
We entered the cafe which is a more modern building that looked clean and presentable. Although not full it was reasonably busy with the service counter serving a constant trickle of customers. The service was good from friendly people and the coffee and cake were good. Not much else I can say other than I will go back and explore further.
I did not think at the time to consider looking for accessibility but I will happily comment in the future following another visit.
If you collect houseplants, like myself, then I highly recommend Scotsdales in Fordham. We visit almost every other weekend and I've always appreciated the variety and health of their indoor plants - particularly the desirable/rarer specimens. More recently, I had an issue with some of my plants. No big deal, just something that comes with the territory and I wanted to fyi them so they could nip it in the bud, so to speak. They insisted on replacing (and then some!) the plants that had become sick. They were incredibly generous! It's not often that shops recognise and appreciate regular and loyal custom these days and so it took me back a little bit and certainly made my day! Might have to increase my visits to weekly - although I'm not sure we'd have much house left for ourselves 😂
Particular shoutout to Jason and Jasmine 🌿🌱
