I've been popping in to the Pantry for a "Café stop" while out on my bike ride for a couple of years now. Its roughly half way so just right. It's a lovely place to sit outside (if the weather is good) and enjoy what I believe to be the best scones you'll find anywhere in the UK. Home made, just sweet enough, lovely light & fluffy in the middle, perfect! The ladies who work there are always very nice, always there for a chat. The café is situated within the heritage centre grounds, tucked away in a sheltered corner. Inside is nice and cosy too. Prices are OK. About £6 for cream tea, you really can't grumble at that. They always have a great selection of other cakes and biscuits etc. If you're in the area or actually visiting the heritage centre I highly recommend taking some time out and go have a brew and a bun at the Pantry 👍😊
Staff friendly. Food very good. Tables inside and out. All one level. Good value teas & coffees with a selection of light meals.
Met some friends here for a coffee. Staff friendly and I must say the cakes and pastries looked really delicious but managed to resist. Not much room between tables, you can just manage to get through if people move in. Didn't see any warm food brought out . Was late morning Wednesday when we went in and fairly quiet but my midday as we were leaving the place was full which says a lot. Plenty of tables outside, some under a gazebo but too chilly to sit outside.
