Food is good. staff very friendly and helpfull. outside seating. Parking out back.
We visited here following a walk alongside the river.
On one side of the cafe, is a busy main road which runs from Egham to Windsor, but on the other side you’re surrounded by the perfect setting for nature walks through the National Trust grounds.
I was expecting more of an ‘afternoon tea’ feel for these tea rooms, although it felt more like a standard cafe. The food was average and quite expensive, having had a fruit scone which was very hard left us slightly disappointed. The Victoria sponge, on the other hand, was huge and very tasty. The tea was served in individual small teapots, which was nice.
Inside there is also a bookshelf which is a nice touch.
Overall, a good pit stop during a hike, cycle or if you’re just passing through.
Nice interior to relax in after an exploration of the park nearby! The coffee is good and there’s a nice selection of ice cream, sandwiches and crisps. We had the soup of the day (tomato and red pepper) which was delicious and came with a nice thick slice of bread.
