We stopped by for lunch and it was quite nice. The menu has a nice range to select from and from the look at the bar, lots of choice of drinks. The food took over half an hour to arrive but when I asked one of the staff how much longer it would be, she was really friendly and apologetic, and went to find out how much longer it was going to be.
Lovely city centre pub, where we only stopped for a pint at lunch but really enjoyed the vibe. Great whisky selection.
After arriving in Edinburgh in the afternoon and finding ourselves being quite hungry we found ourselves in this pub on the Royal Mile ready to enjoy traditional Scottish food. 5 of us were quite lucky to find a table here as the pub was quite full with a lot of patrons. The ambiance was fantastic. After perusing the menu we opted to have chicken wings with Frank’s hot sauce, beer battered onion rings, steak & ale pie, fish and chips, sausage and mash and flat iron steaks. Every dish was quite good except for the steaks. Being a connoisseur of steaks myself I found my rare steak quite dry and tough. I was quite disappointed by the portion size and the quality of the steak. It was not worth £ 17.99 I paid for it. I would not recommend it to anyone. A great pub for drinks and pub grub but not for steaks.
