We found this by reading good reviews. And noted that it was reasonably priced and not expensive. I got the baguette with bacon, egg, and sausage, my wife got the Big Breakfast, and we shared a pot of tea for two. The service was excellent and the food was marvelously delicious. The cozy environment was understandably busy but certainly not chaotic. Highly recommend breakfast here.
Hangovers are cured with food from this place. The doublers (£3.60) and triplers (£4.50) are great value for money with so many options to choose from for your breakfast buns. Staff were super friendly and the portion sizes are very generous. Incredibly good value for money - wished I was in Edinburgh for longer to try out their full english! We took our food to sit on the meadows as it was very hot and stuffy inside. They have outside seating too which is a good alternative. Been raving about this place ever since I went.
I have passed this place many times and I have never gone in but I was very impressed.
The food was high quality, but simple, which is what I want from a breakfast spot. The prices were ridiculously reasonable, and there were many options for the size of your breakfast; I came with my boyfriend and got the all day veggie, which was great for brunch for me, and he got the ‘biggest veggie’ at a marginally higher price and was more suitable to his needs. The hash browns were crispy and the eggs were perfectly done. My boyfriend is Scottish and he rated the veggie sausages, the haggis and the tattie scones!
The staff were really nice while still being efficient. We came on a sunday morning and managed to get a lovely spot by the window, which despite being busy, still felt like it was private and we were able to enjoy our food.
The only complaint would perhaps be that I wish there was the option to get filter coffee as only americanos feels slightly fussy and the coffee could be a bit better. Such a minor note though!
