We tried their Afternoon Tea for two and we were quite satisfied with it overall.

Quirky, elegant and lovely cozy patisserie
We stopped here after a few hours shopping to enjoy a selection of cakes!
*There was a huge (and I mean huge) selection of cakes/pastries/treats to choose from and they all looked so professional and lovely
*The mixed fruit tart was not very nice at all... Very bland and boring
The other two treats though were very very yummy, creamy and enjoyable... Both highly recommended by myself.
*portion size was pretty good as well for the money (which was pretty considerable - £3-4 for each of the above slices)
*The atmosphere is buzzing and busy and there was always people there to help and give advice/names of the cakes and treats
Overall a great little place to stop by in if your up that way and fancy trying a selection of different cakes
*They also do an offer to get 4 slices for £10 to take away - great idea and deal
I wouldn’t normally have walked into a London chain when on a holiday in Edinburgh, but this was a tiring day full of a lot of walking, sight-seeing and shopping which resulted in us having forgotten to grab a bite to eat. When we walked past Patisserie Valerie on Rose Street, in the middle of all hustle-bustle of this lively touristy road, this seemed to be the only calm little Café which seemed to have seating for us.
Patisserie Valerie is always an attraction because of the tremendously gorgeous looking cakes which they always have on display; usually this is a temptation I resist by not even entering the place. However, I was on holiday and so why not? We quickly grabbed a seat and a decided to get the Afternoon Cream Tea. What arrived was a pot of delicious fruit tea, a selection of jams, some rich cream cheese and hot scones. Needless to say, I was happy at the end of it all.
The best part was smothering the scone with Apricot jam on one side and cream cheese on the other; this was delicious and sinful which is always an achievement during a holiday meal. The service was quick and attentive, and they happily provided us with refills of jams which only added to the brown points being awarded to this particular branch.
I’m quite sure what is available at this particular branch is quite identical to what is available at all Patisserie Valeries across the UK. Nonetheless, this one will be a memorable experience for me because of how delighted I was with my Afternoon Tea experience, how lively the location was and the Devon Cream Cheese that I stocked up on inside my belly.
