Although our server wasnt a barrel of laughs, he was accommodating in letting me swap the veggie haggis for extra mushrooms. I had a quick taste of my son's veggie haggis and actually it was very nice and spicy. The veggie sausages (it's a vegan/vegetarian restaurant) were the best veggie version I've had and the mushrooms were to die for. The breakfast also included a herby tomato; what seemed like home cooked baked beans, toast, and eggs which you could choose to have scrambled or poached. It seemed to be a family friendly place, there were several children in while we were there. There's not much ambience but we were there early in the morning, and noticed that there seemed to be a separate evening dining area, which probably feels very different. Not particularly cheap, but I'd go again as it was good value.
Hendersons was in my list even before we moved to the city. I am so glad we tried them.
I had the vegetarian Fish and Chips (fish replaced with grilled halloumi and chips were the sweet potato ones) served with cream and greens dip. My husband had the veg haggis. Both these dishes were excellent (I loved mine more), and I am glad having ordered what we did!
I will definitely check out their vegan menu next time.
