Hungry !!!
After a walk around we were absolutely starving and came in for a bite and to escape the cold
Well!!!!
The fish and chips was so so so good!!! Like really good.
And the Mac and cheese was just what I - as a cheese love freak - needed on a cold day.
Wine and a beer and the total bill was £35 super impressed!!!!
Rob, Kevin and Evelyn were all lovely - big smiles and made us feel like we could really relax and enjoy our drinks.
Last week we headed out for some dinner and the cinema, we were going to the Omni Center so we decided to try The Conan Doyle for dinner.
None of us had been before but it looked really nice inside; it has a very British feel about it, as it is a cosy pub. We hadn't booked a table but it didn't take us long to be seated. The menu looked good, which made deciding on our meals difficult. In the end I chose the haggis, neeps and tatties. This is not a dish that I normal choose when eating out but it felt like the perfect setting for a classic Scottish meal. Fish and chips, salmon and balmoral chicken were the other meals that were decided on, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food.
The only let down for me was the service. It wasn't friendly or welcoming at all. Our waiter did seem quite stressed which could have been a contributing factor, but it still put a dampener on our experience.
I would definitely go back again as I enjoyed the food but I would be keeping my fingers crossed for better service!
Good place for lunch. Nice and clean traditional type bar surrounding, well mannered and attentive staff, good menu choice with reasonable pricing. Food was good and hit the spot.
