Escolhemos este restaurante para celebrar um aniversário enquanto estávamos de férias em Edimburgo. Não nos arrependemos. Da entrada à sobremesa tudo bem. Todos os partos que pedimos eram muito bons: as bochechas de porco podiam ser comidas à colher, a steak pie era muito equilibrada, a massa quente era fina e envolvia a carne e molho suculento. A carta de vinhos é essencialmente composta por vinhos franceses, Bordéus. Regressaremos, sem dúvida .
Lovely lunchtime venue
Came here for a special meal, and despite the other half thinking things were overdone on the presentation, I thought it was first class. The complimentary bread and butter while waiting for the mains was so good, I couldn’t resist the extra offered! Both mains were excellent as was the shared dessert. The service too was top rate with all staff we met being knowledgeable and friendly. The coffee was a little strong for me but it certainly didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Right at the end of Stockbridge high street you’ll find the Scran & Scallie, a Bib Gourmand awarded gastropub. It came highly recommended by Patrick’s friend who studied up in Edinburgh, and a recommendation always counts for a lot. Spoiler: it doesn’t disappoint!. As we scanned the menu we got bread in a little muslin cloth bag and creamy butter.
