Good simple food, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. I go away few times a year with friends or before concerts at the Queen's Hall. It never disappoints. I love the grilled chicken. Very tasty.
A group of us had dinner at Hanedan's on Wednesday night. One of my friends had been before and she highly recommended it.
Hanedan's has a quirky, yet intimate feel inside; it's not just one big room there are a couple of different seating areas.
We ordered some meze to share to start our meal and we opted for the filo pastry with feta and spinach, spicy garlic sausage, halloumi and meat balls in a tomato sauce. Everything was delicious but my favourite was probably the filo filled pastry; I even enjoyed the meat balls, which I'm not usually a fan of, but I thought the sauce tasted extremely fresh and full of flavour.
For my main I chose the mixed grill on a recommendation from my friend and it was an excellent choice. The meats we received were lamb, chicken and sausage. The lamb was especially delicious but everything was cooked very well, and served with rice with chili sauce.
The restaurant staff seemed quite rushed as it was pretty busy but I still had a great experience here. The food at Hanedan's was a pleasant surprise for me as I didn't know what to expect, yet it will now be my go to place for Turkish food in Edinburgh.
We love Hanedan. We eat here a lot and have never been disappointed. It has a cosy atmosphere and service is always excellent. We always have the houmous and usually the thinly sliced steak which is delicious. They do an Eton Mess type dessert with pineapple or strawberry which is really good. The coffee is excellent as is the baklava.
