Always wanted to try this restaurant so decided to treat my boyfriend for a surprise birthday meal at Michael Neave just off the Royal Mile.
Lovely atmosphere and service, we had a starter and main. I want to go back and have the black pudding and scallops again - to die for! 😍
6 of us visited for lunch on 14 Dec 2013. Absolutely wonderful experience. Favourites included sea bass starter, pork with black pudding mains, pumpkin cheesecake dessert. Cocktails need to be sampled particularly the Old Fashioned. Would recommend a visit

Considering our inopportune timing, the staff were above par and the service was wonderful and for this reason alone I would return. Well, obviously it had something to do with that chocolate cake too. I'd love to see what the restaurant was like in full swing, so for now I'm reserving judgement, and keeping my rose tinted glasses.
