'5* FOOD BUT AFFORDABLE' - I had the district pleasure of enjoying a day out to Eastbourne with friends and we ate at 'THE STAR INN' which is an authentic Tudor building with all of the characteristics of the original beautifully preserved. The atmosphere was 'oldy worldy', comfortable and very much family/Child orientated; definitely a place for weekend dining.
The service was quick, professional, attentive and friendly BUT THE REAL TREAT WAS THE FOOD; large portions well presented but the absolutely FRESHEST plate of food I have ever had as if the ingredients had been caught and picked that day and very delicious.
If I was a Food Inspector, I would award them five stars for all-round quality.
Definitely worth a visit if you live in or around Eastbourne but should not be missed if visiting Eastbourne.
On a recent visit ' popped in ' to shelter from a downpour. Stayed a couple of hours chatting with the regulars with a few jars of Guiness.Made to feel very welcome in a traditional Pub. Worth a visit...👍
An excellent pub, warm welcome from staff and locals alike, an excellent Young's Special. Mother's milk for a south London ex pat!
