A lovely welcoming tea room that does a proper pot of tea! Hot, plenty of milk, generous cups, with extra water.
Our table had a mixture of salads, pies and tea snacks. These included the largest Belgian bun I’ve ever seen. All well presented and served swiftly with a smile. All the better as there didn’t seem to be anywhere else in Dunster serving at 4pm on a Saturday.
Great to see a lot of gluten free options and even a gluten free vegan lemon grove cake of which not a crumb survives.
They staff were welcoming and friendly. I am vegan and asked for just a sandwich and they were more than accommodating!
They made me a houmous, falafel and chilli chutney sandwich - it was so good! The bread was so fresh!
We sat in the garden which is really pretty and fed a visiting Robin.
What a lovely place, great food - looking forward to going back!
Thankyou :)
Walked down from Dunster Castle on a monday and not much open; but found this tea shop with courtyard at back through an archway.
Raised area on synthetic grass but pretty as originally front courtyards to people's homes.
Small vintage shed shop back of garden worth a browse.
Quiet and Robins.. pied wagtails flitting around for crumbs.
Cakes unusual combinations.
Most pleased with my falafel board at 12.95.
Portions good..service friendly..no rush.
Ordered from front of shop..so need someone to keep table as no back entrance although food served from back.
