Has become a regular haunt for a quick weeknight escape from the kids!
Lovely friendly & attentive staff.
The £8.95 3-course evening menu is fantastic value, offering a good selection of starters; the usual suspects for main; and a choice of tea, coffee, or HOMEMADE cheesecake for dessert.
Last time we visited, we ordered chicken tikka & chicken pakora to start - both were delicious and serve with a tangy dipping sauce.
Mains were lamb Punjabi massala & chicken bhuna, both came with a decent amount of meat (unlike some places where the less expensive option is more sauce, less meat!!) The sauces were flavoursome and the pilau rice fluffy.
The additional naan appeared to be freshly made.
Now, on to THAT cheesecake....
The first time we went, we discussed the fact that the (strawberry that time) cheesecake appeared to be homemade; and that this was unusual; as often times in local restaurants, desserts such as gateaux or cheesecake are bought in frozen and portioned up as required, there's nothing wrong with that, and to be honest was what we were expecting for £8.95!!
Of course, what arrived at the table was very different!! A substantial slice (chunk!?) with a lovely crumbly biscuity base and a generous layer of thick creamy topping - delicious!!
This visit it was Kinder Bueno, and was as amazing as usual.
****
The restaurant itself is clean & tidy, and nicely decorated. The seating is a mixture of tables & booths, and can cater for a range of different sized dining parties.
Drinks menu seems reasonably priced.
Would definitely recommend!!
Always great food.
Service is exceptional and prices are great along with quality products. The decor and accessibility is greatly the easiest of most resturaunts in the area.
Great food as always. Still number one in my book. Many thanks to everyone for a great meal.
