This is now called the Boathouse. As the old shop and café burnt down.
Well, where do I start?! As we came into the Boathouse, we were greeted by a lovely waitress, who sat us down at our seats. We were in a party of 9, they managed to accommodate all of us, including high chairs for the little ones. (Even though the café was extremely busy).
The menu is great, a lot to choose from and all freshly made. I went for pancakes and nuttella to start, then had the ultimate cheese and ham toastie. (I was starving). The pancakes were amazing, fresh and warm. And my toastie had Ham Hock inside. (With a humongous salad and homemade chutney). Mmmmm.
The service was great, as we were a large party and the Boathouse was already full and continued to be full for the couple hours we were there, we were always made sure we had enough drinks and were told how long the food would be. Excellent from all the staff. 5* service!
If you're after a light bite or a hearty lunch, come and visit The Boathouse, newly renovated, and looks great.
The views over the River Nith are spectacular.
Popped in for a cuppa mid morning.
