Delightful lunch today! We had the haggis and pork sausage roll & salad, and the goat’s cheese/ tomato pastry & salad. Both were delicious - and the salads were exceptional. Super fresh, unusual combinations - lovely mixed leaves, roast carrots, pesto couscous, stripy beetroot, & other lovely things, just not quite sure what! All brought together in a gorgeous dressing, then sprinkled with edible flower petals.
We also had a slice of Raspberry Frangipane, and Persian Orange cake and a couple of coffees to finish. Lovely decor and comfortable modern furniture with cushions and blankets for extra comfort. Loved it!!
We were looking for a place to eat in the area and couldn’t find something open. So when we saw that this one was we jumped inside as we were hungry. It’s a nice little place with a lot of good foods. It was hard to make a choice specially for the sweets part. We tried the smoked salmon and crème fraîche quiche for the savoury which was excellent. And for the dessert I tried the Victoria sponge cake and my Fiancé a lemon tart. Both were really good. So bad that we live so far away! But we will come back the next time we visit the area.
Visit on a regular basis for Sunday brunch and never disappointed. Quality of food is exceptional with a varied menu. Cakes are tasty and good quality coffee to boot. They serve Summer House soft drinks which are a particular favourite of mine.
