This pub has changed massively over the last few years. When we started going it was small with only a couple of small rooms. Now, with a new conservatory and new management, it is very very popular and rightly so.
It's only fair to say though, that even when the pub is full, the atmosphere is still relaxed and calm, especially in the original two, smaller, rooms.
Food is reasonably priced with most mains £15-£20 and the quality is excellent. Portion sizes are generous and the staff are friendly and attentive but in no way in your face.
I thoroughly recommend it, but I would never go there without a booking.
Now for the only (tiny) negative. The original pub did not have many parking spaces, and now the few spaces that there were cannot cope. The pub is on a narrow lane in a village and it can be difficult to park without blocking people's drives or having a bit of a walk.
Maybe get there a few mins early and park considerately.
11 of us came for Sunday dinner, we all agreed that it was very good, a couple of us said that the cauliflower cheese was the best we've ever had. There is plenty of choice on the menu, Vegetarians are catered for. Our food was hot, nicely presented and very tasty. The staff were very friendly, polite and attentive. This pub is very busy, best to book a table. The pub was spacious, very clean and welcoming. Clean toilets and a small car park outside. Would've given an extra star (if I could) for the staff. Recommended
Went for lunch. Five people and two dogs. The staff were excellent. Very welcoming, and treats for the dogs. Service was prompt, and the food was excellent. Portions were large, so much that we couldn’t eat dessert! Highly recommended. Best to book though!
