We went for Sunday lunch yesterday and it was excellent. I rang to book at table early afternoon for about 5pm and they were able to fit the 4 of us in. Most tables were reserved when we got there so definitely worth booking! Only the Sunday Lunch menu was available which suited us fine as that's what we had gone for. Two of us had the beef, one had gammon and the other roast chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection! We all it was the tastiest Sunday lunch we'd had from a pub in a long time. Only one had room for dessert, first choice of Crème Brûlée was sold out but the apple and winter berry crumble was an excellent substitute! There was a fantastic long list of gins on the gin festival menu and I look forward to working my way through them on further visits! All in all we would highly recommend visiting The Greendale Oak, we've always enjoyed it whether it's for lunch, evening meal or a Sunday lunch.
Our party of four had a lovely meal tonight, steaks cooked to perfection, steak and chicken burger so big had to take some home !! Fish pie jam packed with chunks of cod and salmon delish. The bar staff were lovely as ever and the atmosphere smacked of times gone by.
Gotta love this quirky pub! The food is amazing and fab atmosphere! Only critic which isn't much hence my five stars, is I feel like the menu needs a direct path! It's just a bit of a home school with a gastro feel? Might be some people's dream but I feel either old school good or out there? Anyway, regardless the food is nom and the Sunday lunch is a must!
