Gloria and Lils is a hidden gem in the centre of Coventry. The food is fresh and always delicious and the staff are lovely and accommodating.
From personal experience, the team will always go above and beyond. For my wedding last year, I contacted Emma about making brownies for my guests alongside our wedding cake. Emma was more than happy to accommodate our request and even made personal flavours for us. The very reasonably priced ‘bite size’ brownie pieces were very generous and a huge hit among my guests.
Emma delivered them to our venue in Stratford in the morning of the wedding and leant us the rustic cake stands. She made the whole thing so easy - exactly what you need in the lead up to your wedding.
I can not recommend them enough for weddings, breakfast, lunch or even just a coffee and cake. You won’t find better! I look forward to every visit.
Slightly off the beaten Coventry path. Gloria & Oil’s is a contemporary cafe with plenty of space to comfort the community. It has a student-y relaxed studious vibe. Walking to the counter I noticed an empty space behind the glass cabinet. I took a closer look. Bagels. I looked at the large menu on the wall. In my overwhelmed state I asked the staff member for recommendations. I also asked if they had ran out of bagels. They were happy to prepare bagels. I looked around. Most people were eating a bagel from a pizza size box. I wasn’t in the mood for bagels so I eventually decided on an open flat bread.
When the food arrived, I was amazed. The flatbread was deep pan and packed with a fresh bounce. I ate initially with a knife and fork to appreciate the individual ingredients. I then did as was intended, rolled up the avocado and tomato in the flatbread and began to my journey on yet another taste sensation.
I must return. The bagels are calling.
I’m sad I have found about this place, just before leaving Coventry! Really cute interior with some tables outside. Coffee is really good, it’s more on the expensive side, however they don’t charge extra for alternative milks, which is quite rare in most of the places. Also, you’ll get real grated choclate instead of chocolate sprinkles. The biggest downside are definitely the opening hours. Highly Recommend!
