Don’t even know where to start. Overnight DBB for my husband’s birthday. Stayed in room 26 in the annexe, lovely and quiet even though we knew people were staying next door. Stunning 17thC (I think?) building from the rear with ‘modern’ bit on the front (as in photos). Room was ready early for us so we dumped our bags and went into the village (short car journey). We wandered around for hours, looking at historical buildings, before settling in a lovely old pub. I was dubious about having the a la Carte menu because I like simple food but glad we did. I had pork tenderloin and my husband had lamb rump (best he’s ever had apparently). Dessert he had cheeseboard and I had warm ginger cake with rhubarb and a dollop of ice cream. Definitely one of the best desserts I’ve ever had - I wanted to lick the plate! Staff were really friendly from front of house to the restaurant staff. I normally struggle with hotel beds but this one was extremely comfy (oh, free WiFi!). Great breakfast choice in the morning. Locally sourced ingredients, bread from the dinner was homemade and they grow Veg for the restaurant in their garden. In short, couldn’t fault them, would definitely recommend them, and I’d love to go again. Only downside was we didn’t have time to explore the vast grounds but that’s our fault for sitting in the pub!
I would definitely recommend this place. The a la carte menu is good but the meal it self is fantastic full of flavours and made with skill. I would give it 3 Michelin stars if I could, from start to finish excellent service to excellent food
Held my Ruby Wedding at Guyers Hotel I picked it because of the beautiful gardens and the Garden Party was a prefect setting. The food was superb and the staff very friendly and helpful. Can only recommend this place for Events.
