Top grub, dog friendly too
I came in for a birthday lunch today with my son and the food was lovely. I had burger and fries with a lovely coleslaw and my son had chicken in a cream sauce with pasta. The only downside for us both was that its was highly peppered and covered some of the taste of the meal itself. The hot chocolate was very yummy and my son said the beer was good. Many thanks, will be back again.
Hubby & I had a meal after a day's walking. We sat outside + ordered scampy + chips and penne alla Norma, which was vegetarian. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his scampy as it was crispy, chips chunky + with delicious tartar sauce + mushy peas. My penne was was cooked just right as there's nothing worse than over cooked soggy pasta. The pasta was lightly coated in a sauce with small pieces of aubergine, tomato + I think it was olive oil finished off with a small amount of balls of white creamy ricotta cheese, which melted beautifully + rocket leaves. It was very tasty without being overpowering and was delicious! Only fault if any was that it was too much quantity wise as I'm not a big eater, so ended up leaving a little, but that's just me. Staff were polite, friendly and very efficient. A lovely pub with a warm welcome + would definitely recommend. Lovely to see pubs getting back to some normality.
