We stayed last weekend and all I can say is what a lovely comfortable stay it was. The room we stayed in was great, clean, tidy and everything you could need. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower was absolute luxury. We also enjoyed a beautiful meal at the pub which was perfectly cooked and presented. A great selection of ales is available which I believe are brewed on site. In all a great night's stay after a day on the mountains, somewhere we are going to stay at time and time again. Stopped off here for a Sunday Roast. Initial impressions were that it hadn’t had a decor job for quite some time, although this added to the charm of the old traditional Lake District aesthetic. The roast was really good, the staff are really friendly and would definitely visit again. My only gripe and the reason for not giving 5 stars is the unavailability to use cash, and being forced the card only take it or leave it policy. Otherwise 5 stars.

Bliss little pub - I was refused a table in The Crown which is over the road even though I arrived at 4:45pm and the table wasn’t reserved until 8:30pm. So I left and found Black Bull, I’m so glad I did they are very welcoming and they had a table for me which I stayed at all night ordering countless beers with a main and dessert :) See you again soon!
