We made and unplanned stop for food and refreshments here and had an absolutely splendid time. Fabulous service and welcome, first class food and a wonderful selection of drinks are the minimum here, rather than the aim. The building and garden are superb and very comfortable and the car park is quite large. That said, we visited when it was quiet, but listening to our host, they do get extremely busy during their peak business. Such a delightful find and highly recommended.
The food is really good, especially the burger that has a hint of smokiness to the patty. We also had the “deconstructed” banoffee pie. The banana ice cream is a stroke of genius!!!
Lunch.
In the beautiful beer garden.
A little trip out to Colston Bassett Nottinghamshire's most expensive village.
This is a very traditional pub.
The Martin's Arms is a Grade 2 listed building.
It is now in the hands of new owners.
As it was a sunny day, we sat in their beautifully tended garden with our dogs.
We just had a little snack.

Looking at the main menu, we were very tempted but resisted and will definitely return to try some of the dishes next time
