Good decorations and music. Generous menu and portion sizes. Good wine. Staff were helpful and friendly although one seemed possibly new or timid. The food was delicious though I question the decision of leaving the shell on the prawns, it was a little bit off-putting personally, though still a tasty dish. I was offered a coffee or drink on the house for my response to the prawns which was wonderful. I gratefully declined as I was full and had enjoyed myself. I'd happily come back.
Amazing place! Excelent food and great service!
We had a great mid-week dinner at La Dolce Vita. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, we did enjoy our experience, and the food was excellent. The calamari for starter, steak and octopus for mains and tiramisu for dessert were all very tasty. The tiramisu was probably one of the best ones I've had in recent years. The customer service was very friendly. My little advice: 1. I would appreciate a better wine selection; the current wine list is extremely short and lacks diversity. 2. The steak should ideally come with a side of veggies like roasted potatoes/fries etc., especially that the price £25 is already quite high for Colchester standards. Despite this, this is a really nice place with great quality food.
