Very good dining experience!
Areas for improvement:
-The pie crust was a little soggy, I would prefer it crusty.
-We ordered a brownie, the kids brownie came out (they changed the bill to a kids brownie afterwards, no problem).
-Fish, had a few bones in it. Completely understand fish have bones, but nowadays most people expect fish from fish and chips to be boneless. Don't really want to be sieving through the fish before I eat it.
-We were seated around the corner and only checked up on after the food was finished. Felt a bit ignored.
All being said. The chefs were very friendly. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the young lad who originally served us was friendly and relaxed. The food was overall very good. I will definitely be going back.
Thank you
We had lunch at the Cricketers, we didn't book but they had some tables, although quite a few were reserved - within a few mins of being there it got fairly busy. Taking orders took a while, likely to do with it being so busy - and as we was on a quick lunch break we ordered at the bar to speed things along a little. Food didn't take overly long to come after ordering, and cutlery turned up shortly after the food as well.
Food was simple and nice, and the pint went down well with it. I had the butchers sausages baguette, and the wife had a chicken wrap. Both meals came with chips, so we didn't go hungry! Would perhaps come again, but perhaps for an evening meal.
If visiting and fancy a walk - there are also plenty of nice walks nearby to walk off the food / drink!
I go to The Cricketers each time I stay in the area on business, never disappointed. Staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming. The food is always spot on, never had a bad meal, really excellent. If you are in the vicinity, treat yourself to a visit.
