Nice friendly staff, only been open a few months and some tweaking and learning still in progress. Nice large flavourful olives, melt in the mouth salty anchovies and good if not quite exceptional pizza. Small location so a nice vibe, music for atmosphere but not overpowering, will definitely try again. Please note though they oddly do not accept cash, only cards payments.
Second visit to Gaia. First was business lunch with just pizza. Good enough to bring me back with my daughter. Even better second time round. Exquisite and distinctive pizza but little plates sensational. Charred asparagus with Sicilian lemon and Parmesan dressing was incredible. When a 12 year old child fights you for the last piece, you know it’s special! Front of house was a bit over-the-top familiar on first visit. This was really dialled back on second visit. Much more discreet and chilled but still welcoming. Well done. Awesome playlist too. Feels like you’re in a quiet bit of Soho rather than a parade of shops in Surrey. Will be back soon!
I’ve now visited Gaia a few times and every time the food has been really amazing. You can tell they have fantastic ingredients and chefs. They do have a problem with service that needs improving. Many of the staff are very young and there are lots of delays with taking orders and a few mistakes. If they can tweak this (they haven’t been open long), it will be the perfect experience!
