I had the best burrito ever (hot, well cooked, and succulent) at the Cobham branch of El Mexicana (on the M25). The burrito was made by Rodrigo (full beard, wife, and kids), however the tacos were not as nice. Which was surprising.
The service was fantastic. Ed (mustache white chinos) was particularly helpful and disarmingly chatty - happy to give me an incredible amount of information regarding the El.Mexicana franchise including the fact that the end of day takings are not automated by a computer but manually by Ed.
We were having a nice chat disparaging Chipotle, until we were interrupted by his flustered manager - Callan (Alan with a C), who started to get angry when a Starbucks employee came in.
Other than that, guac only cost 80p extra. So that's good too.
NB: I have deducted one star for atmosphere as it is situated near the toilets. And in Cobham. And on the M25.
Really enjoyed the food! Spent a fair bit more than the alternatives but it was worth every penny, good portions, nice food, great service.
Yesterday I was in El Mexicana Cobham for the first time and it was the most great experience I had. The food was made quick by the manager Ricardo who is fast to explain to me who to do the burrito and what he was put in and why in that order explain to me a bit of this company I didn't know previously. Even this is a fast food place with people like this who made a small brand that looks much more attractive than others well done guys and with a captain like Ricardo your boat is safe.
