I first went there ages ago then again last summer when a friend from Spain was staying with me. I go geocaching so we were doing the drive-by set through the Trough of Bowland as Val had a new hip and wasn't up to walking much. We stopped here on the way as I knew the shop and the cafe are so good, sat outside then and had wonderful tea and (I think) scones with jam and cream. I'd had some fruit cake on my previous visit, it's homemade by the gentleman who works there (not sure if he owns it) and it is absolutely the best fruit cake in the world! Yesterday I went to Slaidburn via Dunsop Bridge and on the way back it was another pot of Earl Grey and yes, you guessed it! Fruit cake! They only had a bit left so I ate one slice and bought the rest to take home. Wonderful food, excellent service from a lovely friendly staff, lots of delightful things in the shop, all in a very pretty village with the river (and lots of ducks!!) with some super walks close by. Cheap parking in the village car park and free parking in the drive beside the cafe. Don't ever miss it! Puddleducks Tearoom is the best ever!!
We had called in as passing at around 3pm, not sure of opening/serving times etc, they were open and very busy!
This is a simple cafe, that serves simple food, but it is absolutely delightful.
The food was wonderful. Home cooked, tasty and the pudding was to die for. Exactly what we wanted and a rare find in the world of mass produced, faffy, or processed food. We ordered the cheese & onion pie, the pulled pork and then the crumble and ice cream. Every last mouthful was delicious and we would certainly recommend this place.
The staff were helpful, friendly and the food scrummy. Make sure you stop here and avoid all the bigger establishments if you want real food. Just wonderful!!
Cycled to Puddleducks Tea Room one cold morning and was greeted by a warm fire, a fantastic cup of coffee and welcoming owners. Returned in the afternoon with my family as the tea room is at the start of a great tarmac bridleway. My boys aged 2, 5 and 13 all thought the food was fantastic and the prices offered great value. I would recommend to cyclists and families, very welcoming cafe.
