Once again we were warmly greeted on arrival. We sat in the conservatory and ordered drinks whilst perusing the menu. We were advised of the specials and suggested ways in which it could be cooked for us. Choices made it wasn't long before we were shown to our table with lovely comfy new chairs �.
Again it wasn't long before our starters arrived.
King prawns, Avocado & prawns, Mozzarella and Scallops were our choices for starters. Beautifully presented and piping hot served by attentive but discrete waiting staff.
Given plenty of time to savour and enjoy the starter before the plates were taken away and replaced by even more scrumptious offerings. Swordfish, Tuna steak, Veal escalope and Spinach & ricotta tortellini were our choices and all were scrumptious and served with individual portions of perfectly cooked fresh veg and saute potatoes. Oh and then the puddings! ....
Italian Bread and butter pudding, meringue's, Brandy & Ice cream served in a glass and Lemon and Prosecco sorbet also served in s glass! The brandy and meringue puds were also served with lit candles as 2 of us were celebrating birthdays.
The thoroughly fantastic evening, meal and staff of Il Gardino is a fantastic place to go for a really special meal. Yes you pay a little more, but you certainly get what you pay for.

One of my favourite restaurants in the West of England and a hidden gem. A family run restaurant which shows in their extensive menu and flexibility. Service is always fantastic.
